Human Systems Lab, University of Windsor
In collaboration with Atlas Copco at Human System Labs, I spearheaded a project to optimize user experience (UX) in electric vehicle (EV) battery pack assembly. This study compared the UX of laser projection versus software-based guidance systems by assessing cognitive workload and efficiency of task performance. Using eye-tracking technology, I assessed metrics like gaze fixation and attention allocation to evaluate user engagement and task performance. My findings inform the design of intuitive guidance systems, reducing cognitive strain and improving assembly precision in industrial settings.
Key Contributions:
-Designed experiments to compare laser projection and software-based guidance for EV battery assembly.
-Utilized eye-tracking to measure cognitive workload and engagement, providing data-driven insights.
-Analyzed user performance metrics to optimize guidance systems for efficiency and reduced mental fatigue.
-Contributed to reports that guide industry partners in adopting user-friendly technologies.
